Autotask Electronic Payments with ConnectBooster
About the ConnectBooster integration with Autotask
ConnectBooster is a payment portal that allows you to connect to a number of accounting applications and payment gateways to process invoice payments for your customers. The integration with Autotask will result in the following workflow:
- An invoice is generated in Autotask and synced to QuickBooks (online or desktop are supported).
- QuickBooks returns an invoice number.
- You process the payment in ConnectBooster from the Invoice History or the Invoice page.
- Optionally, you can enable Client Portal users to process payments from the invoice in the Client Portal. Refer to Making a payment on an invoice.
- The ConnectBooster Order Summary page opens. You enter the full or a partial amount to pay and select a payment method.
- The payment is processed in the gateway and appears in the organization's transaction history.
- ConnectBooster syncs the payment to Autotask and QuickBooks. In Autotask, the payment appears on the Payment Search page.
Enabling and activation
Ensure Autotask Electronic Payments is enabled on the Left Navigation Menu > Admin > Admin Categories > Activations page.
Configuration steps
The integration requires steps in both Autotask and ConnectBooster.
- In ConnectBooster, complete your implementation, including the configuration of the payment gateway and the integration with your accounting system.

In Autotask, create a dedicated API user for the ConnectBooster integration. In the Integration Vendor field, select ConnectBooster - ConnectBooster. For general information about creating an API user, refer to Adding or editing an API user. - In ConnectBooster, configure the Autotask integration using the credentials of the API user created in the previous step.
Click Save, then click Test Connection. - The Autotask data is synced to ConnectBooster. The first sync will take some time, since organizations, contacts, contracts, tickets, and the full invoice history is pulled into ConnectBooster. Subsequent syncs will not take long, and will automatically pick up new customers created in Autotask.
IMPORTANT Once set, the internal currency cannot be changed. DO NOT PLAY AROUND, select your actual currency!
Processing payments
Payments can be processed from the Invoice History, the invoice, and by the client contact from the Invoice page in the Client Portal.
