Reports on project financials and profitability

SECURITY  Refer to Required Permission for each report

NAVIGATION  Refer to Path for each report. Note that LiveReports may be published to any report category or multiple report categories, or may not be published at all in your Autotask instance. To publish a LiveReport, refer to Publishing LiveReports.

Standard reports

SECURITY  Permission to view project internal cost data is required to view cost related data including extended costs, estimated costs and profit.

Completed project profitability

Required Permission	Security level with access to Reports > Projects category and view Project type permission
Path	> Reports > Report Categories > Projects >  Projects section
Description	Project performance against budgets for labor, project charges, expenses and adjustments.

Project financials

Required Permission	Security level with access to Reports > Executive category, or Reports > Contracts & Billing category
Path	> Reports > Report Categories > Executive >  Projects section Open a project > Related Reports > Project Financials Reports section
Description	Financial details for the open project. View breakdowns and totals for expenditures, revenue, profit and projected revenue. In addition, the report also shows all tasks along with task status, estimated hours, hours worked, hours and amount posted and cost. Note that to appear on this report, fixed price contract milestones have to be associated with a project task or phase. Refer to Add or edit a milestone

Project financials against budget

Required Permission	Security level with access to Reports > Projects category, and permission to view Project Types. Permission to view Projects internal cost data is required to see the following columns: Project Totals - Expenditures and Profit, Tasks -Internal Costs, and Project Charges - Estimated Cost and Our Cost.

Description	A comparison of actual and estimated projects costs to date.

Project financials by work type

Required Permission	Security level with access to Reports > Projects category and Project type view permissions. Security level Projects > "Can view internal cost data" permission is required to see Cost data.
Path	> Reports > Report Categories > Projects >  Projects section
Description	The cost and amount billed, hours worked and hours billed, or both for the selected client project(s), totaled by work type. NOTE  The report will not show the Cost or Difference columns if you don't have permission to see internal costs.

Project financials by work type and resource

Required Permission	Security level with access to Reports > Projects category and Project type view permissions. Projects > "Can view internal cost data" permission is required to see Cost data.
Path	> Reports > Report Categories > Projects >  Projects section
Description	Cost and amount billed, hours worked and hours billed, or both for the selected project(s), grouped by work type and totaled by resource. NOTE  The report will not show the Cost or Difference columns if you don't have permission to see internal costs.

Project hours & financials by phase or task

Required Permission	Security level with access to Reports > Executive category or Projects category Projects > "Can view internal cost data" permission is required to see the Extended Cost column.
Path	> Reports > Report Categories > Projects >  Projects section > Reports > Report Categories > Executive >  Projects section
Description	Estimated hours, actual hours, actual hours billed, % complete hours, extended cost, extended price and summary notes for the selected project at the task or phase level.

Project profitability forecast

Required Permission	Security level with access to Reports > Projects category and view Project Type permission
Path	> Reports > Report Categories > Projects >  Projects section or Projects Dashboard > My Projects Summary > Team Deadlines & Due Dates (requires security level permission to view legacy projects dashboard)
Description	A comparison of forecasted and actual project revenue and costs, including variance by amount and percent.

Project Summary

Required Permission	System Administrators and Managers Can be published to other security levels, departments, or resources.
Path	Open a project > Related Reports > Project Financials Reports section
Description	Displays the Project Status as of today based on the following metrics: Estimated Hours, Actual Hours, Actual Hours Billed and Actual Cost.

Project Financials

Required Permission	Security level with access to Reports > Contracts & Billing category; also requires Project view permissions
Path	Open a project > Related Reports > Project Financials Reports section
Description	Displays financial details for the project. View breakdowns and totals for Expenditures, Revenue, Profits and Projected Revenue. In addition, the report also displays all tasks along with task status, estimated hours, hours worked, hours and amount posted and cost.

Phase Budget Summary

Required Permission	Security level with access to Projects
Path	Open a project > Related Reports > Project Financials Reports section
Description	Designed for partners using phase budgeting, this report summarizes phase estimates by role in terms of the rates, estimates and actual hours used in each phase. As time is applied to tasks in a phase, the actual hours are updated against the role.

LiveReports

Profit detail by project

Required Permission	Administrator or Manager security level. May be published to other security levels, departments, or resources.
Path	> Reports > Projects tab > LiveReports
Description	This report provides detailed revenue, cost, and profit information, grouped by project. Data may be filtered by posted date.

Profit summary by project

Required Permission	Administrator or Manager security level. May be published to other security levels, departments, or resources.
Path	> Reports > Projects tab > LiveReports
Description	This report provides summary revenue, cost, and profit information, grouped by project. Data may be filtered by posted date.
